BASCOM Honored with its Second LISA Award
For the second time BASCOM has won the Long Island Software Award, honored first in 1998, for the Access Management Engine (AME) and this year for their Global Chalkboard. LISTnet (Long Island Software and Technology Network) created this award to notice and promote Long Island's software industry; members of the Long Island software and technology industry attended while BASCOM was awarded first prize in the Municipal Portals category.
BASCOM's Global Chalkboard was developed from the ground-up for schools as pioneers in next-generation software for K-12 needs. As a premier product, the Global Chalkboard was developed to safely integrate resources into the curriculum of K-12 classrooms allowing educators of all proficiencies to provide Internet-enriched instruction to their students. With this teacher driven technology, educators are afforded a wide range of choice in determining how the Internet is used in their classrooms. K-12 schools can now realize the educational potential of the Web, while enjoying the power and reliability of network efficiency and security.

BASCOM Honored with Lisa Award
BASCOM's Access Management Engine (AME) won The Long Island Software Award (LISA) in February 1998. As a non-profit corporation, The Long Island Software and Technology Network created this award to notice and promote Long Island's software and technology companies for their technology development. Members of the Long Island software and technology industry attended while BASCOM Global Internet Services, Inc. was also awarded first prize in the Children's Internet Applications category.
The Access Management Engine was developed to allow educators to select Web sites with an easy-to-use interface for class lessons. Allowing the Internet to be in the classroom environment, AME is the first technology to do this. This is a way for K-12 school students to stay focused on the safely chosen Internet Web sites and services. Rather than the limited "filtering" software, which "blocks" lists of Web sites, AME allows each school to create their own selections.
