BASCOM's Education Specialists Tie Global Chalkboard's Prepackaged
Lessons to Interactive Whiteboards

Hauppauge, New York - October 12, 2007 — BASCOM Global Internet Services, Inc., the innovative developer of the Global Chalkboard solution for K-12 schools, today proudly announces new interactive whiteboard tips for all of its BASCOM Lessons. Designed by our in-house staff of K-12 certified Education Specialists, BASCOM Lessons are packaged with the Global Chalkboard and can be used immediately to bring Internet-enriched instruction into a classroom. With the new addition of interactive whiteboard tips, a teacher now also has instant guidance in how to use a BASCOM Lesson with a whiteboard.

Many technology-leading, K-12 schools are equipped with interactive whiteboards in their classrooms to energize lessons and motivate students. The touch-sensitive display of whiteboards entices children to participate in the learning process by enabling them to initiate actions on the screen. By using whiteboards and BASCOM Lessons simultaneously students immediately benefit by becoming eager participants and therefore, active learners; teachers also benefit because they can reach superior educational outcomes by teaching to a classroom of engaged and motivated students.

A BASCOM Lesson is introduced with a Student Start Page. This page contains directions and the Web sites a teacher wants their students to visit to complete the lesson. By displaying this start page on a whiteboard, an educator can review the directions with the class and preview the sites with them. Students can be immediately engaged by asking them to come up to the whiteboard and take turns navigating through the Web pages. Students can use the pens or markers to underline or circle pertinent information, thereby keeping them actively involved.

There are many other ways a Web-based lesson can be adapted to a whiteboard. For more specific tips on using interactive whiteboards with specific BASCOM Lessons, view the links on our individual lessons at http://teachers.bascom.com.
