BASCOM's Mark Drago Honored as one of LISTnet's Twenty Top Techies on Long Island

Hauppauge, New York - December 11, 2007 — Last night, BASCOM's Mark Drago, our talented Senior Software Developer, was honored as one of LISTnet's T3=Twenty Top Techies at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island. Each year LISTnet honors 20 IT Technology Professionals currently working on Long Island as a Software Developer/Programmer, Network Engineer/Administrator, Information Architect/Analyst, IT Hardware Engineer, or Technology Professional.

As a senior developer and key architect for the Access Management Engine, the heart of BASCOM's Global Chalkboard solution for K-12 schools, Mark Drago was recognized by LISTnet for his strong leadership skills and depth of programming knowledge. Mr. Drago proved his talent by starting with BASCOM as a part-time intern and quickly working his way to a senior development position.

Confidence and the strength of character needed to defend a unique position are the key qualities that enable an organization to succeed. Mr. Drago demonstrated these qualities this past year during the product redesign of Global Chalkboard 5.0 release. His out-of-the-box thinking and innovative ideas when challenging existing software design greatly contributes to the quality of BASCOM's solutions and the stellar reputation we have with our customers.

Mr. Drago is an avid supporter of Long Island. He was raised and schooled on Long Island and is now anchoring himself here through his close family, work, and community contributions. He serves as the Vice President of LILUG (Long Island Linux Users Group)-an official Not-For-Profit organization that brings groups of individuals together that share an interest in Linux and other Free/Open Source software. He has also co-hosted live, software roundtable discussions on a local radio station (WUSB 90.1 FM).

Please join BASCOM in congratulating Mr. Drago for receiving this prestigious industry award for his outstanding development efforts on the Global Chalkboard 5.0 release, his strong leadership role as a senior member of the BASCOM Development Team, and his contributions to the technical community of Long Island.
