BASCOM Kicks Off Its Fall Season by Showcasing Patronus™ for Libraries and My Web Library™ for K-12 Schools at the NYLA Annual Conference & Trade Show

Hauppauge, New York - October 12, 2009—BASCOM Global Internet Services, Inc., an innovative developer of Internet security tools for a variety of learning environments, kicks off its fall trade show season this week by showcasing its Patronus solution at the New York Library Association (NYLA) Trade Show beginning Thursday, October 15th in Rochester, New York. Designed as a fast, flexible, easy to use solution that supports a library's Internet use policies, Patronus is a robust CIPA-compliant system that gives a librarian the ability to decide how much of the Internet is acceptable for each patron. Librarians can instantly turn filtering on and off—alternating between open access and unobtrusive filtering—and customize access for age-appropriate Internet use by using different Profiles for adults, young adults, and children.

In addition to demonstrating its Patronus solution to Public Librarians and Librarian Administrators, BASCOM will also showcase its My Web Library solution to School Library Media Specialists. My Web Library provides K-12 schools with an instructional home on the Web. It keeps everyone in a school community involved in a child's educational process by building a school-to-home connection that unites teachers, parents, and students. My Web Library delivers thousands of teacher-reviewed Web sites, organized by K-12 categories (and subcategories) and grade levels. Designed to compliment a school's existing Web site, My Web Library provides an academic Web presence customized with a school's logo, links, and a selected design.

"BASCOM is excited to demonstrate its innovative Patronus and My Web Library solutions at this prestigious event," states Peter Cirasole, BASCOM's CEO/President. "Our solutions are designed from the ground-up to be easy to use and yet extremely effective. Whether you're a librarian working in a public library or a K-12 school, BASCOM delivers flexible and robust solutions designed specifically for your learning environment."
