The Global Chalkboard Delivers an Improved Firewall with Superior Performance

Based on feedback we've received from you, BASCOM's Development Team has made the Global Chalkboard's firewall easier to administer. Soon you will have this new functionality when you select the Firewall option under Network Settings.

Instantly Activate & Deactivate Rules
For those situations when you need to active or deactivate a rule quickly, we've added this capability to make your life easier. By clicking in the box next to the rule, and clicking on either the ACTIVATE or DEACTIVATE buttons, you can instantly turn a rule on or off.

Quickly Create New Rules for Multiple Workstations
And, to assist you in creating new rules for multiple workstations, you can copy an existing rule by clicking on the box next to a rule, and then clicking on the CLONE button and entering the unique IP information for each workstation. This alleviates the need to re-enter data that already exists. A SAVE AND CLONE button is now also available to help you enter data for new rules.

Assign Rule to Multiple Ports and Port Ranges
For firewall rules that require multiple ports and/or port ranges, we've now added the ability to enter this information in a single rule by using a comma to separate each entry.

Improved Performance for VPN's
In addition to new functionality built for creating and administering rules, BASCOM's Development Team has improved the Global Chalkboard's firewall for improved performance and better pass-through support for PPTP, L2TP, and IPSEC VPN's.
