Patronus — Library Web Filter

BASCOM’s development team worked closely with members of a local cooperative system to design a solution that’s ideally suited for libraries. The Patronus Library Internet Filtering appliance includes features that make it easy for librarians to manage Internet access for patrons of all ages and staff.

Instant Override

Patronus provides filtering that’s unobtrusive, yet accurate. Using an instant override screen, a librarian can quickly open access by logging into a profile with unrestricted access for a specified time period. When the patron is finished with their session or the time period expires, the filter settings for that workstation are restored.

With Patronus for libraries, blocking is minimized and unblocking is easy and quick. Librarians now have the CIPA compliant tool they need, but they decide when open access is appropriate.
