BASCOM's Patronus includes Instant Override so Librarians can quickly open access for a patron for a specified period of time. And, using the built-in Access Zones, the Internet can easily be customized for children, teens, adults, and staff. Also included is the Kids Zone Web Library which can be used to focus computers in the children’s room to a portal of educator-selected sites, so young patrons can safely use the Internet without any supervision.

Patronus is also easy to install and maintain. Backups, restores, and updates are all managed remotely. This library filter also includes a built-in firewall and Web cache. And, since an additional Ethernet interface is provided using the new Patron Connect™, it’s easy to separate patron and staff computers without any additional purchases. You can even create a private “guest network” for patron WiFi access.
